Vision City Video Games Park at Resorts World Genting

When I was young, I loved to play arcade and video games but after I got married and have kids, I seldom play anymore. I usually bring kids to the arcade center to sit on kiddie rides or let them play other children video games. This school holiday, my kids and I went to Vision City Video Games Park, Resorts World Genting to have fun entertainment.

This is one of the largest arcade centers in the country with a total of 429 units of machinery available, offering 4 different types of games, namely video games, redemption games, kiddie rides and skill games. The total number of video games available is 294, including the latest state-of-the-art video machines from Japan, Taiwan and China. The centre’s yearly product refresh cycle covers about 10% of the total number of machines so you can enjoy new excitement all the time.

The Vision City Video Games Park is now more vibrant, bigger and better than before. It is like the rest of the resort with major transformation. There is Sky Avenue Mall, Awana Skyway cable car, many F&B brands like London-based Burger & Lobster, France’s Cafes Richard and Brooklyn-based Motorino which also adds to the excitement to your holiday here.

If you come to Resorts World Genting, make sure you visit the Vision City Video Games Park for some adventure, unwind or relieve stress. This place has games for the young and old and everyone will enjoy some fun and excitement. If you are skillful, you can try your shooting skills, throwing balls, spinning the wheel or tossing rings to bottles. You can win the cute plushies on the spot if you are skillful or lucky. The higher the level of difficulty, the larger the prize.

I managed to shoot down 2 pins. If you want tips, you need to shoot the left or right pin down first instead of the middle pin which is in front because when I shot the middle pin, it was blocking the left one making it harder to shoot to it down.

For this game, you need to roll the ball slowly without much strength. If you roll it hard or throw it, the ball will fall out of the table. Spinning the wheel game depends on pure luck. Who knows, you might be lucky.

All these games can be played by reloading money to the eZiCash card at the counters or machines. If you play the redemption games and hit certain targets, the scores are converted to e-tickets and stored in the eZiCash cards for a maximum of 2 years. The e-tickets can be used to redeem merchandise at GRC too.

The lights, sound and all the excitement while playing at Vision City Video Games Park is a great place for your holiday when you come to Resorts World Genting. After our fun time here, we went to Rajawali, Awana for our buffet dinner.

Having traveled many cold countries, I thought I was seasoned enough to take on Snow World at Resorts World Genting but this winter wonderland surprised me with a memorable experience. I never thought that being in a large freezer could be so enjoyable.

Inside Snow World Genting

World gave us a chance to experience what -5oC feels like. The temperature was enough to extinguish the heat of stress.

The price paid at the counter is a one time payment which includes jackets, boots and gloves- a very reasonable deal for the pleasure and fun that you will receive. The apparels were well maintained and there was no odour found. Be careful though, as the boots might not be thick enough to warm your feet. Do bring a thick pair of socks and wear thick pants eg jeans. It will be slippery when walking on ice but it all means more adventure!

If you are worried of your belongings being a burden while you are playing in the cold, there are plenty of lockers to keep your properties safe. Cameras and handphones are not allowed in Snow World and there is nothing for you to buy inside the freezer. You will have to stash them away together with your cash for a more carefree spin! Cameras and handphones will end up being wet due to condensation if you bring them in anyway.

Halloween Fun in Snow World

The moment I stepped in Snow World, there was no hint of me being an adult. It was the last day of the Halloween set up in Snow World and we managed to capture them! Wait up for the Christmas decoration. I am sure it will be a magical scene. If you think 1/2 hour is depriving you of the value of your money (like what I initially thought), be assured that it is adequately enough. Any longer, you will be screaming to get out because of the intense cold.

I went between pumpkins and took shelter in igloos. We posed with the penguins and frolicked with the spiders. The street lights and wall designs that mimicked shops resembled an evening in “Europe”. Having been in Europe, this stretch of street in Snow World could be passable as the real thing.

Wait a minute…I AM in Europe

Imagine Swiss Alps for a moment with firs and castles. Let the chill sting and the cold numb you and then warm it up with a hug from your friend or loved one. There are not many places in Malaysia that you can freeze in (other than in KL offices) so take your time to absorb the extraordinary surrounding and launch your travel imagination so that your dream will come true (power of attraction)!

For years I have been peeping into Snow World from outside like these people. Now that I am finally inside, this is what it looks like. I unconsciously smiled and frisked around as encouragement for them to come and try it for themselves. No wonder the people inside always look so happy.

Back to the freezing fun, there are sleighs for you to play with. Skid with your friends as you laugh out loud. A simple toy like this will make even the Christmas Grinch joyful. Remember to grab a tube for a snow slide. My eyes were perpetually reduced to a slit for chugging my lungs out.

Never Too Old for Snow Slides

If you feel the cold is beyond what you can take, you can always come out to take a breather before you continue the fun. However, some advised against it as the changing temperature might not be healthy. After you are done, make yourself comfortable with the drying facilities and clean restrooms thoughtfully available outside the wonderland.

Setelah muter-muter di Skytropolis mencoba permainan yang Edbert dan Elmer bisa main, kita melihat di pojok sana ada Arena permainan salju yang bernama Snow World. Sebenernya ragu untuk main disana karena anak-anak tidak memakai baju khusus untuk ke arena dingin tapi hati kepingin sekali mencoba bermain salju di negeri orang. Ya sudah akhirnya kita masuk. Ternyata disini kita tidak perlu membawa jaket dan perlengkapan pakaian sendiri karena disini telah disediakan seperti Jaket, sepatu boat dan juga glove.

Begitu kita masuk ke arena salju tampak arena salju yang tidak terlalu luas namun apik dipandang mata, berkonsep seperti bangunan eropa yang bagus disorot oleh lampu warna warni. Begitu sekian detik masuk langsung kita merasa dingin yang amat sangat menusuk kulit, dinginnya itu dingin sekali sekitar -5 derajat celcius, sampe mau foto pun tidak kuat untuk melepas sarung tangan yang kita pakai. Jadi kita hanya foto beberapa aja lensa kamera pun terus berembun karena hawa dingin disini. Permainan pun cuma ada perosotan yang terbuat dari batu tapi tidak apa-apa walaupun dingin sekali tapi kita dan anak-anak tetap senang.

BigTop, Genting Highlands, Malaysia: Overview

RESORTS World Genting’s indoor entertainment space takes on a new look and feel, with the creation of the Skytropolis Funland after nearly one-and-a-half years of renovations. Soft-opened in December last year, this funland which opens daily from 10am to 10pm has since attracted thousands to its new offerings.The newly-revamped indoor theme park is spread across four floors covering 400,000 square feet.

Giant LED screens on the walls and ceiling light up the park with fun, festive, and sometimes seasonal animation and images. Inside the theme park is The Void – a hyper-reality centre which is the biggest of its kind outside of North America, and the first in Asia.

It uses custom VR technology along with physical stages to create immersive experiences that inspire exploration and engagement. The Void includes titles from well-loved franchises such as Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire, Ralph Breaks VR, Ghostbusters and The Void’s own original spooky experience: Nicodemus: Demon of Evanishment. Skytropolis Funland also features the BigTop Video Games Park (a video and skill games arcade), and soon, the Imaginatrix which combines real rides with virtual reality.

Those who have a good head for heights can head for the Eagle Landing Zipline. Stretching 200 metres across the indoor theme park and four floors above ground, it is the longest zipline in a shopping mall in Malaysia. It also offers a one-of-a-kind bird’s-eye view of the indoor theme park for adrenaline junkies. Resorts World Genting has invested over RM300 million into revamping this new indoor theme park.

This includes bringing back 15 favourite rides from the former outdoor theme park, but giving them an entirely new look. Among these rides is the upcoming Super Glider, which was known as the ‘Superman’ roller coaster back in the day. Another seven new cutting-edge rides for visitors will be introduced in the park soon. They include Power Surge, Disco!, Sky Tower, Spin Crazy, Bumper, Boo Boo Bump, Tea Cups, and Balloon Race. When the full collection of rides are opened, Resorts World Genting expects more than 7,000 paying guests will be thronging Skytropolis Funland on a daily basis.

Most rides are priced at RM10 per ride during the weekdays, and at RM15 per ride on weekends as well as public and school holidays. Get the Skytropolis Funland Preview Pass for RM60 and gain access to the park’s general rides. Note that this pass and the pay-per-ride ticket prices do not apply or include admission to The Void, the Eagle Landing Zipline, the individual games at BigTop Video Games Park, and the upcoming Imaginatrix.

The Void, Genting Highlands: Overview

What is The VOID?

In 2015, a partnership exploring Tesla Field tracking for untethered VR productions accidentally opened a transfinite portal across an infinity of parallel dimensions – the Omniverse – and took its first, if initially tragic, step into the VOID.

The mission of the VOID soon crystalized around our Security Division’s motto: Itinerantur, Inquisitio, Praesidium – Travel, Inquiry and Protection. We travel across the Omniverse and strive to understand its meaning, all while protecting our own reality from possible threats from other dimensions.

Now after years of private research and development, our Rapture® Rigs have been certified safe for commercial travel into select parallel dimensions. VOID Travelers can now step beyond their reality into any one of an infinity of possibilities: places where dreams and nightmares have substance, hopes and fears can be touched and worlds without number await to be experienced and explored.

Still how more astonishing, humbling and troublesome was it for us to discover that others have walked these paths before us. Our hesitant footfalls into this vast Omniverse stumble into paths already trodden by others of our kind … immortal horrors and everlasting splendors…

How To Prepare

Each experience accommodates a maximum of four people. Guests must be at least 10 years of age and a minimum height of 4ft (122cm). Arrive ten minutes early to check-in. All guests must sign a waiver before entry. If under the legal age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign the safety waiver on your behalf while purchasing tickets either online or in the location.

What To Expect

The VOID is a whole-body, fully immersive experience, with you, your friends and family physically inside the action. We recommend all group members arrive at least ten minutes before your scheduled time. Latecomers may not be guaranteed their booked time slot. Due to popularity and demand, there may be periodic waits. Please allow up to one hour for your end-to-end experience.

Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park Genting Highlands

Genting Highlands (Resorts World Genting) Walking Tour – Indoor Theme Park and beyond

A walk in Genting Highlands from Theme Park Hotel to First World Hotel, introducing more of Skytropolis, the newly renovated and only theme park in Genting Highlands currently. More details about Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park Genting Highlands are shown on the ‘funfair’ type of games that young and old like to play. I also went up to Cyber World where there’s many PC LAN gaming for the more sophisticated teens and young adults.

During our time in Genting Highlands, it was towards late January 2020, where the Wuhan novel coronavirus was rampant in China, especially in Wuhan itself, so you could see some people wearing a surgical mask as a precautionary measure. In Genting Highlands, there are mostly Malaysians from many states in East and West Malaysia. It is a popular tourist attraction for locals especially, it is common for locals to drive hours up the mountain. In this period, it is also Chinese New Year, so there are apparently more people taking a short vacation due to the long public holiday.

Genting Highlands is renovating an outdoor theme park too, and it’s expected to complete by the late 2020, else, 2021. While in the SkyWay, the cable car ride, we could see the outdoor theme park clearly, it’s probably about 80% completed. The SkyWay cable car leads to some temples where people like to pray for good luck and fortune before trying their luck in SkyCasino, it also leads to Genting Highlands Premium Outlets, where you could find many many branded brands boutiques where they usually sell out-of-season stocks at a fraction of their usual price.
