    Circus-themed arcade

Get ready to let your fun side loose and into the excitement of old school arcade and carnival-style games!

Complete your visit with a fulfilling day of family fun at the BigTop Video Games Park Genting Highlands.

    BigTop, Genting Highlands, Malaysia: Overview

RESORTS World Genting’s indoor entertainment space takes on a new look and feel, with the creation of the Skytropolis Funland after nearly one-and-a-half years of renovations. Soft-opened in December last year, this funland which opens daily from 10am to 10pm has since attracted thousands to its new offerings. The newly-revamped indoor theme park is spread across four floors covering 400,000 square feet.

Giant LED screens on the walls and ceiling light up the park with fun, festive, and sometimes seasonal animation and images. Inside the theme park is The Void – a hyper-reality centre which is the biggest of its kind outside of North America, and the first in Asia.

It uses custom VR technology along with physical stages to create immersive experiences that inspire exploration and engagement. The Void includes titles from well-loved franchises such as Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire, Ralph Breaks VR, Ghostbusters and The Void’s own original spooky experience: Nicodemus: Demon of Evanishment. Skytropolis Funland also features the BigTop Video Games Park (a video and skill games arcade), and soon, the Imaginatrix which combines real rides with virtual reality.

Those who have a good head for heights can head for the Eagle Landing Zipline. Stretching 200 metres across the indoor theme park and four floors above ground, it is the longest zipline in a shopping mall in Malaysia. It also offers a one-of-a-kind bird’s-eye view of the indoor theme park for adrenaline junkies. Resorts World Genting has invested over RM300 million into revamping this new indoor theme park.

This includes bringing back 15 favourite rides from the former outdoor theme park, but giving them an entirely new look. Among these rides is the upcoming Super Glider, which was known as the ‘Superman’ roller coaster back in the day. Another seven new cutting-edge rides for visitors will be introduced in the park soon. They include Power Surge, Disco!, Sky Tower, Spin Crazy, Bumper, Boo Boo Bump, Tea Cups, and Balloon Race. When the full collection of rides are opened, Resorts World Genting expects more than 7,000 paying guests will be thronging Skytropolis Funland on a daily basis.

Most rides are priced at RM10 per ride during the weekdays, and at RM15 per ride on weekends as well as public and school holidays. Get the Skytropolis Funland Preview Pass for RM60 and gain access to the park’s general rides. Note that this pass and the pay-per-ride ticket prices do not apply or include admission to The Void, the Eagle Landing Zipline, the individual games at BigTop Video Games Park, and the upcoming Imaginatrix.

    Did you know?

Tickets can be purchased at the ticketing counters or at the self-service ticketing kiosks. The preview passes may also be purchased online at www.rwgenting.com.

Sbenar nyer indoor theme park nih terbahagi kepada 5 bahagian iaitu Skytropolis (games mcm kat funfair), Big Top Video Games (pusat video games), SeniKome (muzium), Snow World (rumah salji) dan The Void (VR game centre). Better korang amek tiket combo untuk enjoy park2 yang lain. Kalu just nak layan Skytropolis sahaja, better amek Preview Pass berharga RM64.00 untuk unlimited ride.

The Void Genting Highlands Amusement Park

Discover The Void Genting Highlands, an extraordinary attraction offering a range of immersive experiences. Learn all about the exciting activities available and find out how The Void partners with Tesla Field for cutting-edge VR tracking technology. Explore everything you need to know about this top destination.

    The Void, Genting Highlands: Summary

    • Attraction: The Void, Genting Highlands
    • Location: Pahang Malaysia
    • Attraction Type: Amusement park in Genting Highlands

    The Void, Genting Highlands: Overview

    What is The VOID?

In 2015, a partnership exploring Tesla Field tracking for untethered VR productions accidentally opened a transfinite portal across an infinity of parallel dimensions – the Omniverse – and took its first, if initially tragic, step into the VOID.

The mission of the VOID soon crystalized around our Security Division’s motto: Itinerantur, Inquisitio, Praesidium – Travel, Inquiry and Protection. We travel across the Omniverse and strive to understand its meaning, all while protecting our own reality from possible threats from other dimensions.

Now after years of private research and development, our Rapture® Rigs have been certified safe for commercial travel into select parallel dimensions. VOID Travelers can now step beyond their reality into any one of an infinity of possibilities: places where dreams and nightmares have substance, hopes and fears can be touched and worlds without number await to be experienced and explored.

Still how more astonishing, humbling and troublesome was it for us to discover that others have walked these paths before us. Our hesitant footfalls into this vast Omniverse stumble into paths already trodden by others of our kind … immortal horrors and everlasting splendors…

    How To Prepare

Each experience accommodates a maximum of four people. Guests must be at least 10 years of age and a minimum height of 4ft (122cm). Arrive ten minutes early to check-in. All guests must sign a waiver before entry. If under the legal age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign the safety waiver on your behalf while purchasing tickets either online or in the location.

    What To Expect

The VOID is a whole-body, fully immersive experience, with you, your friends and family physically inside the action. We recommend all group members arrive at least ten minutes before your scheduled time. Latecomers may not be guaranteed their booked time slot. Due to popularity and demand, there may be periodic waits. Please allow up to one hour for your end-to-end experience.

    History

    The Void Omniverse

The Omniverse is an infinity of dimensions moving simultaneously in parallel through the Bulk. It is, in short, everything that has ever been, is or will be … as well as everything that could have been, could now be or could ever be in the future.

    Rapture Headset

The first VOID Travelers used a VR-modified bike helmet to visit other dimensions, but the modern Rapture Headset blends high-resolution graphics and 3D audio into a cool and comfortable design.

    Rapture Haptics

The VOID Rapture Gear backpack contains everything a Dimensional Traveler needs. The latest version is upgraded with state-of-the-art hand tracking and full-torso haptics, making for the most immersive virtual experience.

    High Accuracy Props

Interacting with objects in other dimensions often requires use of a prop. The VOID has experimented with various prop designs over the years, but modern props use high-accuracy electronic tracking for the smoothest and most responsive simulation.

    Rapture Blaster

THE VOID offers protection to travelers who venture into more dangerous frontiers. With precision tracking, force-feedback haptics and support for numerous firing modes, the Rapture Blaster is the best protection a Dimensional Traveler can have.

Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park Genting Highlands

Genting Highlands (Resorts World Genting) Walking Tour – Indoor Theme Park and beyond

A walk in Genting Highlands from Theme Park Hotel to First World Hotel, introducing more of Skytropolis, the newly renovated and only theme park in Genting Highlands currently. More details about Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park Genting Highlands are shown on the ‘funfair’ type of games that young and old like to play. I also went up to Cyber World where there’s many PC LAN gaming for the more sophisticated teens and young adults.

During our time in Genting Highlands, it was towards late January 2020, where the Wuhan novel coronavirus was rampant in China, especially in Wuhan itself, so you could see some people wearing a surgical mask as a precautionary measure. In Genting Highlands, there are mostly Malaysians from many states in East and West Malaysia. It is a popular tourist attraction for locals especially, it is common for locals to drive hours up the mountain. In this period, it is also Chinese New Year, so there are apparently more people taking a short vacation due to the long public holiday.

Genting Highlands is renovating an outdoor theme park too, and it’s expected to complete by the late 2020, else, 2021. While in the SkyWay, the cable car ride, we could see the outdoor theme park clearly, it’s probably about 80% completed. The SkyWay cable car leads to some temples where people like to pray for good luck and fortune before trying their luck in SkyCasino, it also leads to Genting Highlands Premium Outlets, where you could find many many branded brands boutiques where they usually sell out-of-season stocks at a fraction of their usual price.

I hope you enjoy walking with me, as much as I enjoyed filming while taking a leisure me-time exploratory walk while the kids were sleeping. Pls bear with me if I had stayed in a particular place for too long or passed by a place too quickly. Feel free to ask me any questions and I’ll try to answer asap! 🙂 Last but not least, pls SUBSCRIBE to my channel for more updates. Ciao, J

From canopy walkways to limestone caves, waterfalls, and cultural festivals, Taman Negara is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

    Introduction

Gazette as a National Park since 1938, Taman Negara is Malaysia’s premier national park and the largest in the country. Rare Bird Species

Taman Negara is home to over 300 bird species, including hornbills and pheasants, as well as mammals like the Malayan gaur and sun bear. The park’s biodiversity makes it a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts.

    Great Argus (Argusianus argus)

The Great Argus is a magnificent pheasant renowned for its spectacular tail feathers, which can stretch over a meter long. This bird is often sought after by birdwatchers due to its elaborate courtship displays, where males spread their wings and tail to create a mesmerizing fan-like spectacle. Although it is large and striking, the Great Argus is shy and prefers dense forest habitats, making sightings rare and rewarding.

Its presence in Taman Negara highlights the park’s role as a sanctuary for unique avian species. The bird’s reliance on undisturbed rainforest underscores the importance of conservation efforts in Malaysia’s oldest national park. Observing the Great Argus in its natural environment is considered a highlight for serious birders visiting the region.

    Malayan Peacock-Pheasant (Polyplectron malacense)

Endemic to Peninsular Malaysia, the Malayan Peacock-Pheasant is one of the most elusive birds in Taman Negara. Its iridescent plumage, adorned with eye-like spots, makes it a jewel of the rainforest. However, its secretive nature and preference for thick undergrowth mean that even experienced birdwatchers may struggle to catch a glimpse.

This species is critically important to Malaysia’s biodiversity, as it is found nowhere else in the world. Conservationists emphasize its vulnerability due to habitat loss, making Taman Negara a crucial refuge. Spotting this pheasant is considered a once-in-a-lifetime experience for ornithologists and eco-tourists alike.

    Malayan Crested Fireback (Lophura rufa)

The Malayan Crested Fireback is a rare forest pheasant distinguished by its striking crest and shimmering plumage. It is most often observed in the Merapoh sector of Taman Negara, where dense forest provides the cover it prefers. Its vibrant colors and unique appearance make it a prized sighting among bird enthusiasts.

Despite its beauty, the species is seldom encountered due to its shy behavior and limited distribution. Conservationists monitor its population closely, as it is sensitive to habitat disturbance. Visitors fortunate enough to spot the Malayan Crested Fireback often describe it as one of the most memorable highlights of their trip.

    Asian Emerald Dove (Chalcophaps indica)

The Asian Emerald Dove is a small but dazzling bird, known for its jewel-like green plumage that glistens in sunlight. Though widespread across Asia, sightings in Taman Negara are uncommon due to its preference for secluded forest paths and quiet feeding grounds. Its gentle cooing call adds to the serene atmosphere of the rainforest.

This dove plays an important ecological role as a seed disperser, helping maintain the forest’s biodiversity. Birdwatchers often describe the thrill of spotting its shimmering feathers amidst dense foliage as akin to discovering a hidden gem. Its rarity in the park makes every encounter special.

    Violet Cuckoo (Chrysococcyx xanthorhynchus)

The Violet Cuckoo is a striking bird with vivid purple plumage that stands out against the green rainforest canopy. Garnet Pitta (Erythropitta granatina)

The Garnet Pitta is a brilliantly colored bird, with deep red and black plumage that makes it one of the most visually stunning species in Taman Negara. Despite its vibrant appearance, it is extremely secretive and prefers the dim understory of the forest, making it difficult to spot.

Its rarity and beauty have earned it legendary status among birdwatchers. The Garnet Pitta’s presence in the park underscores the importance of preserving undisturbed rainforest habitats. For many visitors, catching even a fleeting glimpse of this elusive bird is the highlight of their birding adventure.

    Rhinoceros Hornbill (Buceros rhinoceros)

The Rhinoceros Hornbill is one of Malaysia’s most iconic birds, recognized by its large casque resembling a rhinoceros horn. Though it is a symbol of strength and cultural heritage, sightings in Taman Negara are rare due to its preference for lowland rainforest.

This hornbill plays a vital role in seed dispersal, helping regenerate forest ecosystems. Its rarity in the park makes encounters particularly special, often leaving visitors in awe of its size and majesty. Conservation efforts are crucial to ensure this iconic species continues to thrive in Malaysia’s rainforests.

    Helmeted Hornbill (Rhinoplax vigil)

The Helmeted Hornbill is critically endangered and known for its loud, resonant calls that echo through the forest. Its distinctive casque, made of solid keratin, has unfortunately made it a target for poaching. In Taman Negara, sightings are extremely rare but deeply significant.

This species is a flagship for conservation, symbolizing the urgent need to protect Malaysia’s rainforest biodiversity. Birdwatchers who hear its haunting calls often describe the experience as unforgettable. The Helmeted Hornbill’s survival depends on continued protection of pristine habitats like Taman Negara.

    Black-and-Red Broadbill (Cymbirhynchus macrorhynchos)

The Black-and-Red Broadbill is a colorful bird found in riverine habitats within Taman Negara. Its striking plumage of crimson and black, combined with its large bill, makes it easily recognizable yet rarely seen. It prefers quiet riverbanks where it builds intricate nests suspended over water.

This species adds vibrancy to the park’s avian diversity, though its rarity makes sightings precious. Birdwatchers often describe the thrill of spotting the Black-and-Red Broadbill as a highlight of their journey. Its dependence on healthy river ecosystems underscores the importance of protecting Taman Negara’s waterways.

    Orang Asli Villages

The indigenous Orang Asli communities live within Taman Negara, preserving traditional lifestyles. Visitors can learn about their hunting techniques, blowpipe demonstrations, and cultural practices.

The indigenous people of Taman Negara are the Orang Asli, specifically the Batek (sometimes spelled Bateq) tribe, who belong to the Negrito subgroup. They are traditionally nomadic hunter‑gatherers, living in small forest communities, and are recognized as one of the rarest and most distinct indigenous groups in Peninsular Malaysia.

    Cultural Festivals

Occasional cultural events showcase traditional dances, music, and crafts. These experiences provide deeper insight into Malaysia’s indigenous heritage.

    Flora and Fauna Diversity

Taman Negara’s rainforest is home to countless plant species, including giant hardwood trees, medicinal plants, and rare orchids. The park also shelters endangered animals such as the Malayan tiger, Asian elephant, and tapir.

Giant Hardwood Trees: Tualang Tree (Koompassia excelsa)

The Tualang Tree is one of the tallest tropical trees in the world, reaching heights of up to 85 meters (280 feet). Towering above the rainforest canopy, it provides nesting sites for giant honeybees that build massive honeycombs on its branches. Local communities often revere the tree, believing it houses spirits, which is why it is traditionally left untouched. Its sheer size and grandeur make it a symbol of the majesty of Malaysia’s ancient rainforest.

Ecologically, the Tualang Tree plays a vital role in stabilizing soil and supporting wildlife. Its expansive canopy contributes to the rainforest’s layered structure, offering shelter for birds, insects, and mammals. For visitors, standing beneath this towering giant is a humbling experience, and it remains one of the most photographed natural landmarks in Taman Negara.

    Medicinal Plants

The Orang Asli, particularly the Batek tribe, rely heavily on rainforest plants for traditional medicine. Roots and leaves are brewed into herbal teas to treat fever and digestive issues, while bark extracts are applied to soothe skin conditions. Forest herbs are also used in poultices to relieve pain and inflammation, showcasing the deep connection between indigenous communities and their environment.

This knowledge is passed down orally through generations, forming an essential part of cultural heritage and survival skills. The use of medicinal plants highlights the rainforest’s role as a living pharmacy, where biodiversity directly supports human health. For visitors, learning about these practices offers insight into the sustainable relationship between people and nature in Taman Negara.

    Rare Orchids

Taman Negara is home to a dazzling array of orchid species, many of which are rare and endemic. Among them are Paphiopedilum, or Lady’s Slipper orchids, prized for their unique pouch-like flowers. Other species such as Bulbophyllum display unusual forms adapted to rainforest conditions, while epiphytic orchids thrive on tree trunks and branches in the humid canopy layers.

Conservation is critical, as many orchids face threats from over-collection and habitat loss. Strict protection measures ensure these delicate plants continue to flourish in the park. For nature enthusiasts, spotting a rare orchid in bloom is a highlight of any visit, symbolizing the fragile beauty of Malaysia’s rainforest biodiversity.

  • Pusat Ikan Hiasan Port Dickson: Marine Wonders

Pusat Ikan Hiasan Port Dickson: Marine Wonders

Pusat Ikan Hiasan, Port Dickson, Malaysia

Explore Pusat Ikan Hiasan Port Dickson Malaysia, a free-entry marine conservation center showcasing ornamental fish, vibrant corals, and sea turtles. Managed by the Malaysia Fisheries Department, this destination blends education, conservation, and family-friendly fun in Teluk Kemang.

    Introduction

Pusat Ikan Hiasan, also known as the Ornamental Fish Center, is a marine aquarium and conservation facility located in Teluk Kemang, Port Dickson. Operated by the Malaysia Fisheries Department, the center is dedicated to preserving marine biodiversity while educating the public about aquatic ecosystems. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., it offers visitors a chance to see ornamental fish, colorful corals, and even sea turtles at different stages of life. With free admission, it has become a popular destination for families, students, and marine enthusiasts seeking both entertainment and knowledge.

Ornamental fish are species of fish kept primarily for decorative purposes in aquariums, ponds, or water gardens, valued for their colors, patterns, and unique appearances rather than for food. Unlike food fish, their primary role is visual enjoyment and relaxation. Common types are Tetras – schooling fish with striking patterns, Goldfish – one of the oldest domesticated ornamental fish, Koi – popular in Japanese gardens and ponds, Betta fish – known for vibrant colors and flowing fins and Guppies – small, hardy, and colorful.

    Highlights

    Ornamental Fish Exhibits

The center houses aquariums filled with ornamental fish species commonly found in the aquarium trade. Visitors can admire clownfish, angelfish, butterflyfish, and other vibrant species. The exhibits highlight the beauty and diversity of marine life, making it a visual treat for all ages.

A clownfish is a small, brightly colored marine fish belonging to the family Pomacentridae, best known for its symbiotic relationship with sea anemones. Clownfish are tropical reef fish found mainly in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, including the Great Barrier Reef. They are also called anemonefish, because they live among the tentacles of sea anemones for protection.

An angelfish is a freshwater or marine fish admired for its distinctive shape, graceful swimming style, and striking colors, often kept as an ornamental species in aquariums. Freshwater angelfish (Pterophyllum genus) – native to the Amazon Basin, popular in-home aquariums. Marine angelfish (Pomacanthidae family) – found in coral reefs, known for vibrant colors and patterns. Size ranges from 10 cm (freshwater) to over 60 cm (marine).

A butterflyfish is a small, brightly colored marine fish belonging to the family Chaetodontidae, commonly found in coral reefs. They are admired for their striking patterns and are popular in marine aquariums. They are closely related to angelfish but generally smaller in size. Found in warm waters of the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans.

    Visitor Facilities

The center provides clean walkways, informative signage, and guided tours for school groups. Air-conditioned halls ensure comfort, while interactive touch tanks allow children to engage directly with marine creatures under supervision.

    Coral Displays

Corals are an essential part of marine ecosystems, and the center showcases live coral specimens to educate visitors about their importance. The displays emphasize coral conservation and the threats posed by climate change and pollution.

Live coral refers to the living colonies of tiny marine animals called polyps that build calcium carbonate skeletons, forming coral reefs. These reefs are among the most diverse ecosystems on Earth, providing habitat, food, and protection for countless marine species. Live coral is made up of living coral polyps, small organisms related to jellyfish and sea anemones. Each polyp secretes calcium carbonate, creating a hard skeleton that accumulates into massive reef structures. Unlike dead coral (which is just the skeleton), live coral is vibrant, often hosting symbiotic algae called zooxanthellae that give it color and energy. In Malay, live coral is called karang hidup.

Coral reefs are underwater ecosystems formed by colonies of living corals that build calcium carbonate structures, creating habitats for diverse marine life. They are often called the “rainforests of the sea” because of their extraordinary biodiversity. Major reef systems include the Great Barrier Reef, the Coral Triangle, and reefs in the Caribbean. Provide habitat for about 25% of all marine species and act as natural barriers, protecting coastlines from erosion and storms. In Malay, coral reefs are called terumbu karang.

    Sea Turtle Conservation

One of the highlights of Pusat Ikan Hiasan is its sea turtle program. The center raises turtles from hatchlings to adulthood, allowing visitors to witness their growth stages. This initiative supports Malaysia’s efforts to conserve endangered turtle species, including the green turtle and hawksbill turtle.

A sea turtle is a large marine reptile belonging to the family Cheloniidae and Dermochelyidae, known for its streamlined shell, flippers adapted for swimming, and long migrations across oceans. They are air-breathing reptiles that live in the ocean but come ashore to lay eggs. They have existed for over 100 million years, making them ancient survivors. Unlike land turtles, they cannot retract their heads or flippers into their shells. In Malay, a sea turtle is called penyu.

    Educational Experience

Visitors learn about turtle nesting habits, threats from poaching, and conservation measures. The chance to see young turtles swimming in tanks is both educational and heartwarming, especially for children.

    Interactive Touch Tanks

The touch tanks allow visitors to handle certain marine species safely, such as starfish and sea cucumbers. This hands-on experience fosters curiosity and respect for marine life.

A starfish, also called a sea star, is a marine invertebrate belonging to the class Asteroidea, recognized for its radial symmetry and typically five arms extending from a central disc. Despite the name, starfish are not fish but echinoderms, related to sea urchins and sand dollars. They move using tube feet powered by a water vascular system, rather than muscles like fish. Usually have five arms, though some species may have more. Covered with calcium carbonate plates that form a tough exoskeleton. In Malay, the word for starfish is tapak sulaiman.
