    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

    Where is Lagenda Park located?

Located beside the Kuah jetty, Lagenda Park Langkawi Dalam Taman is a beautifully landscaped folklore-themed park. Opened in 1996, the open-air ‘garden museum’ faces the Kuah waterfront and colourful statues, with signboards in English detailing the myths associated with specific sculptures are spread out across the park. The 50-hectare compound has a total of 17 colorful sculptures depicting Langkawi legends including legends of heroic giants, mythical birds, evil ogres and beautiful princesses.

What are nearby attraction places in Taman Lagenda, Langkawi you must visit?

Besides visiting Taman Lagenda in Langkawi, there are many nearby attractions you can visit during your vacation in Langkawi Island. You are recommended to visit:

    1. Dataran Lang (Eagle Square) is an iconic place to take photo.
    2. Masjid Al-Hana is the largest mosque.
    3. Gunung Raya is the highest mountain in Langkawi
    4. Langkawi Crystal is a cystal production company where you can pay a visit to the factory and buy souvenir to bring back home.

    2. Reading a history sculpture
    3. Nature walks like trail running, jogging and static exercise.
    4. Photo shooting session

What is a history of Taman Lagenda, Langkawi?

Not as old of a monument site, Taman Lagenda was only built in 1996. However, the 17 sculptures built at the park that depict stories of various lost legends of Langkawi certainly carry the weight of times long ago. With sign boards at each of these massive sculptures, locals and tourists get to break myths attached to each one.

One of the sculptures in Taman Lagenda Langkawi is of two big giants who once upon a time were best friends.Later, a battle between them caused them to transform into Mat Cincang and Gunung Raya mountains. Another legend is that of a beautiful maiden named Mahsuri. Falsely claimed of adultery, Mahsuri was executed unjustly in the 1800s.

The sculpture of a mermaid playing with a golden ball led to a legend where a prince tried to woo the mermaid who resisted his actions. While many of these historical stories in Taman Lagenda Langkawi are readable to the public, many, unfortunately, have been rubbed with dust over time due to a lack of maintenance.

What other scuba diving sites in Langkawi?

The most popular dive sites include the Coral Garden, Sunken Boat Point, Grouper Farm, Sponge Reef, Lembu Rocks, Shark Point and House Reef, where you can see schools of large fish and exciting marine life, including manta rays, seahorses, sweetlips, angelfishes and snappers.

Pulau Kaca is a popular alternative to Pulau Payar, housing a wreck diving site named Kaca Sunken Wrecks. Here, you can find several sunken fishing boats that are home to a variety of soft and hard corals, as well as marine life such as clownfish, black tip sharks, barracuda and scorpion fish. Due to the high density of plankton in Pulau Kaca, water visibility is between 5 and 20 meters, depending on the season.

When is the best time for scuba diving in Pulau Payar, Langkawi?

While Pulau Payar scuba diving is available all year round, Langkawi experiences heavy rainfall due to monsoon winds in the months of September and October. While showers are sometimes accompanied by violent thunderstorms, the weather in Langkawi is mostly good, even at this time.

Why must you join diving and snorkeling excursion Pulau Payar Marine Park with Scuba Club Langkawi (SCL)?

Join our excursion to Pulau Payar Marine Park with our custom 32-footer dive boat. To ensure safety and fun we only take a small group of 8 to 10 persons (combination of divers and snorkelers). Most of us have clocked hundreds of hours underwater and have taught many different diving courses from beginner to professional level. Our sales office is located at Airis Sanctuary Resort, Pantai Tengah, Langkawi. Attractions And Highlights

    The Natural Hot Springs

Telaga Air Hangat is famous for its three-tiered saltwater pools, each offering varying heat intensities for different healing benefits. The mineral-rich waters are said to soothe aching joints, improve skin conditions, and promote detoxification. Visitors can choose between public pools or private jacuzzis for a more intimate wellness experience.

    Visitor Facilities

The village provides shaded seating, clean restrooms, and spa services to ensure comfort. Private rooms with jacuzzis are available for couples or individuals seeking deeper relaxation. Onsite kiosks sell refreshments and local crafts, making the visit both therapeutic and enjoyable.

    Legend Of Telaga Air Hangat

The hot springs are steeped in local folklore, said to have formed during a fierce wedding feud between two legendary giants. According to the tale, pots of boiling water were hurled during the battle, creating the springs that still bubble today. This mythical origin adds a mystical dimension to the natural wonder.

    Cultural Storytelling

Visitors can attend storytelling sessions where local performers narrate the legend through dance, music, and interactive displays. These performances bring Langkawi’s folklore to life, enriching the visitor experience with cultural depth.

    Foot Reflexology And Massage Treatments

The village offers holistic therapies such as foot reflexology and full-body massages, designed to complement the healing effects of the hot springs. These treatments enhance circulation, relieve stress, and promote overall wellness.

A typical spa session begins with a soak in the hot springs, followed by a reflexology massage that targets pressure points. Visitors often report feeling deeply rejuvenated and energized after the combined therapy.
