Nurul Adilla., Kuala Lumpur – ★★★★★ “I often visit Suria KLCC after work because of its convenient MRT and LRT connections. The mall is spacious, clean, and offers everything from luxury boutiques to casual dining. The Lake Symphony fountain show outside is a highlight, especially at night when the lights dance to music. It’s a perfect spot to unwind with family.”

David Luis Mikael., London – ★★★★☆ “As a tourist, Suria KLCC was impressive. The Petrosains Discovery Centre kept my kids entertained for hours with interactive exhibits. We also enjoyed Aquaria KLCC nearby, which had a fascinating underwater tunnel. Shopping was great, though prices for luxury brands were similar to Europe. Still, the cultural mix of attractions made it worthwhile.”

Muzaffar Ali Khan Penang – ★★★★★ “Suria KLCC is my go-to for both shopping and dining. The food courts offer a wide range of local and international dishes, and I particularly love the halal-certified restaurants like Serai. The mall is always bustling, but the facilities—baby care rooms, prayer rooms, and concierge services—make it very family-friendly.”

Azizul Cha’a., Jakarta – ★★★★☆ “Visited Suria KLCC during Chinese New Year and was amazed by the festive decorations and cultural performances. The Galeri PETRONAS had an inspiring exhibition, and Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS offered a world-class orchestra experience. The only downside was the weekend crowd, but overall, it’s a must-visit in Kuala Lumpur.”

Berjaya Times Square: Thrills Await You

Berjaya Times Square Indoor Theme Park

Recognized by Malaysia’s Book of Records, Berjaya Times Square Theme Park is Malaysia’s largest indoor amusement park. Nestled in the heart of Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, this vibrant destination combines exhilarating rides, immersive VR experiences, and a dynamic shopping environment. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie or a family seeking wholesome fun, this theme park promises non-stop excitement under one roof.

    Introduction

Berjaya Times Square Theme Park is more than just a playground—it is a cultural landmark that has redefined urban entertainment in Malaysia. Located within the iconic Berjaya Times Square Mall, the park spans over 133,000 square feet, offering a unique blend of thrill rides, family attractions, and immersive digital experiences. Its strategic location in Bukit Bintang makes it a must-visit for both locals and international tourists.

    History

The story of Berjaya Times Square begins in the late 1990s when the Berjaya Group envisioned a mega-complex that would combine retail, hospitality, and entertainment. Construction started in 1997, but the Asian financial crisis delayed its completion. Finally, in 2003, the twin towers and the sprawling mall opened, inaugurated by then Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.

The theme park was designed as the centerpiece of this urban marvel. Its Supersonic Odyssey roller coaster, looping through the upper floors of the mall, became a symbol of Kuala Lumpur’s modernity. Over the years, the park expanded to include Galaxy Station and Fantasy Garden, each catering to different audiences. This evolution reflects Malaysia’s growing appetite for indoor leisure spaces that thrive regardless of tropical weather conditions.

    Visitor Facilities

Berjaya Times Square Mall complements the theme park with over 1,000 retail shops, 65 food outlets, and a luxury hotel. Visitors enjoy ample parking, direct monorail access via Imbi Station, and diverse dining options ranging from local hawker fare to international cuisine.

    Highlights

    Galaxy Station

Galaxy Station is the adrenaline hub of the park. Designed for teens and adults, it features high-speed rides and thrilling attractions.

    Molly-Cool’s Swing

This gentle swinging ride mimics the motion of the sea, offering a safe yet exciting experience for children and parents alike. Its nautical theme adds charm, making it one of the most photographed rides in the park.

    Visitor Facilities

    Signature Dishes

    Traditional Malay Favorites

Rebung’s menu features a wide range of traditional dishes, each prepared with care and authenticity. Popular choices include asam pedas, nasi goreng rebung, nasi campur, laksa, and mee rebus.

    Asam Pedas

This bold, spicy, and tangy fish dish is infused with herbs like daun kesum and tamarind. The flavors are intense yet balanced, making it a favorite among diners who enjoy robust Malay cooking.

Asam Pedas is a traditional Malay dish meaning “sour and spicy,” typically a fish stew cooked with tamarind and chilies, popular in Melaka and Johor in Malaysia. It is known for its bold, tangy, and fiery flavor profile.

Malacca Asam Pedas is often considered the home of Malaysia’s most iconic version. It typically uses stingray (ikan pari) or mackerel, beef and daging tetel cooked with tamarind, chili paste, and daun kesum. The broth is tangy and fiery, often served with white rice and salted egg.

Johor Asam Pedas version is thicker and richer, sometimes incorporating spices like fenugreek and belacan (shrimp paste) for added depth. It is commonly prepared with red snapper or grouper, fish eggs such as telur ikan mayong giving the dish a more robust flavor.

Telur ikan mayong refers to the roe (eggs) of the mayong fish, a freshwater species found in Malaysian and Indonesian rivers. This delicacy is considered exotic in Malay cuisine and is often prepared in spicy broths or fried dishes. Seen as a luxurious or “rare” dish because it is not always easy to find.

    Nasi Goreng Rebung

A fragrant fried rice dish featuring bamboo shoots, nasi goreng rebung is unique to the restaurant. The bamboo shoots add texture and flavor, while aromatic spices elevate the dish into a signature specialty.

    Nasi Campur

Nasi campur offers a diverse selection of side dishes, including grilled meats, curries, and vegetables. Diners can mix and match flavors, creating a personalized meal that reflects the richness of Malay cuisine.

Nasi campur literally means “mixed rice” in Malay. It refers to a popular meal where plain steamed rice is served with a variety of side dishes, allowing diners to mix and match flavors on a single plate. It is commonly found at hawker stalls, food courts, and family gatherings. The dish represents everyday comfort food, offering diners the freedom to enjoy multiple flavors in one meal.

    Grilled Specialties

Rebung is also known for its grilled dishes, such as sate ayam and ikan bakar. These dishes highlight the smoky flavors of charcoal grilling, paired with traditional sauces and condiments.

Ikan bakar is a traditional Malay dish that literally means “grilled fish.” It refers to fish that is marinated with spices and seasonings, then grilled over charcoal or an open flame, often wrapped in banana leaves to enhance its aroma and flavor. Cooking Method: Charcoal grilling, sometimes with banana leaves. Flavor Profile: Smoky, spicy, and aromatic.

    Sate Ayam

Freshly grilled chicken skewers are served with Rebung’s signature peanut sauce. The satay is tender, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by the rich, nutty sauce.

Sate Ayam is a traditional Southeast Asian dish that literally means “chicken satay.” It consists of marinated chicken pieces skewered on bamboo sticks and grilled over charcoal, then served with a rich peanut sauce. It is one of the most popular street foods in Malaysia. Cooking Method: Charcoal grilling for smoky flavor. Serving Style: Usually accompanied by peanut sauce, rice cakes (ketupat), cucumber, and onions.

    Ikan Bakar

Charcoal-grilled fish, including mackerel and cencaru, is marinated with spices and served with sambal. The smoky aroma and bold flavors make ikan bakar a standout dish at Rebung.

Cencaru is the Malay name for torpedo scad, a type of marine fish commonly found in Southeast Asian waters. Cencaru is considered a budget-friendly yet flavorful fish in Malaysia. Its firm flesh makes it suitable for grilling and stuffing, and it is a staple in many households. The dish ikan cencaru sumbat sambal is especially iconic, often served with rice and vegetables. Popular in Malay cuisine, especially grilled or stuffed. Scientific Name: Megalaspis cordyla.

Then, we also ordered Chocolate Moist Cake with Ice Cream, too bad, we can’t choose the ice cream but still it has good combination. I like the cake, it fluffy and moist.
