Pulau Tinggi Mersing
Imagine sitting on a deck with the ocean breeze gently caressing your skin, watching an awe-inspiring sunset after a long, arduous day of relaxing on the beach. Pure bliss. Pulau Tinggi, directly translated as “Tall Island” is one of the islands off Mersing most frequented by tourists all with a relaxing beach holiday in mind.
The only resort on the island, TAd Marine Resort, offers a variety of accommodation and activities throughout the duration of your stay. As one of the protected marine parks in Malaysia, the waters off the island are teeming with colorful coral reefs and diverse aquatic life. Turtles are frequently sighted both on and off the island, which is home to a turtle hatchery. Pulau Tinggi is a 30-minute speedboat ride from the Tanjung Leman Jetty, which is located southeast of Mersing proper.
Pulau Tengah Mersing Johor Darul Ta’zim
Pulau Tengah, which is literally ‘middle island’ in English, is famed for the crystal-clear waters surrounding it, and is the ideal place for sunbathing and swimming. Tanjung Balau Kota Tinggi
As your feet touch the cool sand, take a deep breath and savor the aroma of the fresh ocean air. Tanjung Balau has a long stretch of beach running down its coastline. Home to several beachfront resorts, visitors come here for the turquoise blue waters and to relax on the soft sand while enjoying the refreshing breeze. There is also an overwater walkway leading to a small jetty from which locals enjoy catching small fish that swim close to the shore.
It is important to note that some of the areas along the beach can be particularly rocky, so be sure to avoid these spots if you’re looking to take a dip in the serene waters. Tanjung Balau is located 70 kilometers away from Kota Tinggi.

Tanjung Leman Beach Mersing Johor
Close your eyes and you hear the sultry sound of rolling waves, feeling the sand beneath your bare feet as if you were on an island, and then you realize that you haven’t yet arrived at your island destination. Most commonly known as being a gateway to the isles, Tanjung Leman provides a beach encounter, before even arriving at your island destination. The Tanjung Leman beach is popular among the locals and visitors can choose camp on the beach, lullabied by the calming sounds of the ocean.
If camping isn’t your style, there are several resorts and homestays to choose from if you wish to overnight here. At the jetty, there are several stalls and even a KFC which allows you to enjoy your finger-licking good fried chicken in view of the South China Sea. From Mersing town, you will have to drive 72 kilometers further South to get to Tanjung Leman.
Teluk Mahkota (Jason’s Bay) Kota Tinggi Johor
An undiscovered treasure with the feel of your own private beach. Teluk Mahkota, formerly known as Jason’s Bay, has remained off the radar for quite some time. Though there are resorts in the area, the bay is visited mostly by those in the know of its existence. A long stretch of untouched beach awaits you with waves lapping gently on the seashore creating a very relaxing, almost therapeutic environment. The beach is great for family picnics or as a quiet place to just relax and appreciate nature. Teluk Mahkota lies approximately 28 kilometers northeast of Kota Tinggi.
