Highlands Hotel Genting Highlands “2 Days in Genting”

We had quite a lot of high expectations when we booked this hotel for 2 nights (@ 200$ per night). This was our first time to Genting Highlands, and we had only heard a lot from people about how great it was. After taking the cable car we had to walk for almost about 15-20 minutes taking multiple escalators up and down to reach Hotel Maxim which is in the far end of the place.

The Hotel’s lobby is very beautiful and full of Marble show pieces. The Room was surprisingly small for the amount that was charged. I am presuming it’s a place only for hardcore gamblers who want to rest after they are exhausted from the betting as the Hotel has 2 adjoining VIP game areas only for members.

The decor of the room was great, and the view was fantastic but if you are going to be out all day then it is a waste as you dont get to enjoy the view over-looking the hills at night. The room doesnt come with complimentary Breakfast and the Hotel has no breakfast area.

Highlands Hotel Genting Highlands “We should have stayed another day or two”

We only stayed two nights at Genting but could have stayed 2 more. So much to do and see between the hotels/shopping areas alone. We did get confused/lost a few times and would recommend each hotel gives a small map to assist. One night we got stuck at the back of one of the hotels trying to find our way back and it was drizzling rain and uphill and dangerous. This was after a staff member had pointed us in that direction!! So many shops. So many food outlets. So much happening. You must visit the Temple by getting off the cable car.

do this when not raining as you simply can’t walk around and see it all otherwise. I can recommend San Francisco Coffee and a Butterscotch Muffin. OMG. The check-in to Maxims was pleasant and the lady who showed us to the escalators was wonderful. The room was adequate, but I do wish the windows were cleaner and the chair/stool in the room is in need of a very good clean. Beds were comfy, great shower. Bathroom needs some bleach in places!!
