Tioman Surf Festival 2019
The Tioman Surf Festival or Surfestival 2019 took place at Kampung Juara on the east side of the island. This video shows a summary of what happened and what the atmosphere is like during the event. This is also the 8th year that the Surfestival is taking place here. This year’s surfing festival saw slightly over 100 participants from around Malaysia and even the Maldives taking part in multiple categories. Overall, the two-day festival was a success with over 500 people attending the surf event.
The main sponsor for this even is RipCurl Malaysia, Tioman Board riders Club, and also The Barat Resort, where the festival took place on the private beach here. As Malaysia is slowly growing the surfing sport, more people are getting into this hobby, and more surf events and festivals are taking place in Cherating, Terengganu and even in Kudat, Sabah Borneo.
For surfers out there, get ready for the next Tioman Surfestival 2020, which will take place at the same location. I hope you enjoyed this simple video done on behalf of The Barat Resort, and if you liked it, do give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my video channel. The Surf Festival 2019 was held on the 1st and 2nd of February, as the tail end of the monsoon season.
